From the stats there is a clear case, if your trying to be the top airline you should not be competing against an airline with one pilot and a legion of bots, but the embeds are more your view of what's happening in your airline.
I would not class this embed as a view of whats happening in 'your' airline.

I did not remember that one, I think Konny must have created that, but it seams way to busy and I am not sure I want to keep that. But any one where airlines are being compared should not include bot pilots.

I quite like it actually. One to see how you stack up globally would be good too.

I don't think its over filled either...

But agree no bots please. I'm still not sure how I feel about the entire bot thing anyway especially for bigger airlines.

I looked through the functions in the VA XML/Json interface and looks like only getCountryStats, which is where that endpoint gets its data, is the only one where data from different airlines are compared so I modified it to only report normal flights, no training, co-pilot or automated/generated flights.

I have opened up the automated pilots system to all airlines that are using advanced finance, which means you need a platinum account.

To limit the load on the system I am limiting the total number of automated pilots on the system to 250, there are currently 117, but 24 are currently unemployed and could be rehired by other airlines.

Cool. I will release some of mine too, I don't need this many. I just had them for testing.

I just put 5 on furlough and kept 8. I may even scale back more and just keep my 4 long haul guys (767 pilots).

[EDIT] - Done: I furloughed all my autopilots except 4 which is all I need.

If anyone needs a tutorial video on how to go about setting up the autopilots and/or schedules, just let me know and I'll make one.

Despite there being available crew, I can't view them... Didn't think BMI was such a bad place to operate  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Your looking at the list for experienced pilot? Looks like they all got hired.

Cannot make a video at this time as the pilots available are all gone already. The system will not let me hire a new pilot.
Maybe we need a database add-on showing where the automated pilots are? You may have to restrict the number of pilots per airline, not per platinum account as one big airline could easily take up the entire pool of available automated pilots.

May have to even put a kabosh to the whole program if the interesting idea is not fundamentally viable on the scale required to satisfy demand.

Sorry, when I made the change to allow more pilots I broke something, should be fixed now.

New Walk Through Video - note: I am sure I missed some details but this should get people started.

UPDATE: Part 2 coming today - I will discuss in more detail how to create autopilot schedules and also cover topics I missed in the first video.

Done!

Hi Sam, agree with Mesquaki, thanks for those videos. A couple answers to things you did not know.

For moving pilots you can move them to an airport with any type of airport center (office/maintenance/warehouse) or an airport where a fleet has its headquarters.

The time for a flight is more than the benchmark time for new pilot but as the pilot gains hours that time should go down. I need to double check that so that at some number of hours (say around 100-1000) the average time would be the bench mark.

I did see one thing that may be a bug when you were creating your schedule, you added two legs, then edited the schedule to give it a name and turn on repeat. After than you added another leg, at that point the system should have turned off repeat because the schedule did not begin and end at the same location.

I think I do need to add a fleet list/over view pages so you can see all the fleets and where there bases are, but that may be down the line some time.

Edit: Sam, one thing I noticed was that when you were looking for your airport centers, you kept selecting the different fleets and see what they had, while there is an option second bottom of the fleet list for '[All Fleets]' that would have shown you all of them. This is not a criticism but an observation that a long time user like yourself was not aware of it and how can we make it easier for everyone to see it.
