Divert a flight for fuelling

An obvious question which I cannot find an answer to. If real weather creates an unexpected problem, can I divert for refuelling purposes and then continue the flight to it's final destination?

We had a pilot who diverted and it took away all his income. I wonder if he just landed without hitting the Divert! button in the Client..... I'll check and advise.

That seemed to be the case Tim, so where do we go from here. Other than hitting "Divert" is there some other action to prevent loss of income.

Stan, have you in actual fact ever used that facility, I'm not trying to be offensive, just asking the question as the option of using it can be quite beneficial when things go wrong.

Do we have a manual/notes for the use of the Client? particularly use of the Divert button.

What's the use of the divert button if you end up with these kinds of loss on a flight:

Diverted landing: -1,499,900
Destination ARV + 938,500
---------------
NET LOSS - 561,400

It does not make sense to me, and takes away from the reality of weather influences. This is asking pilots to cheat.

I did a divert a couple of days ago and I did loose my income and the company lost a great deal of money, but when I returned to the destination later (from the diverted airport) the income we got was much higher than it usually would be, maybe that covers the deduction coz of the divert ?

i have diverted a number of times due to fspassenger and weather etc. i have always had a positive amount of money and i personally like this feature in the client.

Also in real life if a plane diverts the airlines has to pay even if its got nothing to do with the airline i.e weather or a terror alert. the airlines still has to pay for onward travel, hotels, having the aircraft positioned to where it should be as well as with the crew

Yes i have used the divert button.When you land at the divert airport you will get a negative amount,but when you continue the flight you will get the income from tickets on landing at your original destination.

I have not tried divert yet but just in case :
when hit divert and land at other airport what's next if I plan to continue for original destination ?
Do I refuel and continue onwards to destination on same flight booking ?
When I refuel (via FS or model loader ) does the client allow me to ?

End flight in client/Restart client,no need to book another flight the client remembers you diverted/Start client at present position,refuel and continue to original destination.

Like Stan said, the divert works properly as he described. The problem lies in the multiplier. With no income being produced at the divert airport, it will multiply the loss (cost of fuel less miles for standard cargo) and make it completely not worth using.

Your bringing up a pretty old topic.

I think you are forgetting that when you divert, its not the end of the story. its just one leg of a multi leg flight and you need to look at all of them to get the whole picture. The first flight will buy most of the fuel but get no profit, the second flight will buy a little more fuel but get all of the profit. It would be unfair to buy the fuel in the first flight at 1x and then profit at 100x. (Of course there are safe guards in the system to prevent that already)
