Just curious about this bird.
It has 28500kgs of cargo space but I have never got even 1 kg of cargo when I book a flight.
For all other a/c, the booking system gives cargo but not for this bird.
Cheers,
Airbus A340-500 cargo

First, not all airplanes get cargo. I can list off a half dozen that never get cargo.
Second, the system is simple - There are 3 numbers that are important to the loading of the airplane - BOW (Empty weight), MZFW (Max Zero Fuel Weight) and MTOW (Max Takeoff Weight). FlyNET uses the first 2 to figure how much you can carry. By subtracting the BOW from MZFW it determines how much payload you can carry. It then loads up passengers and baggage using the numbers Konny set (75Kg per pax & 25Kg/pax of baggage). It subtracts that number from the MZFW. If there is no more weight left, then you get no cargo.
