ERROR 500 is really annoying me now!!!!!
Konny, i know there is no easy fix but i did a really simple flight from luton to gatwick tonight and somewhere in between the server went down taking the client with it. luckily, the client came back to life once the server came back online but i almost gave up and lost the flight. Is it simply load on the server that cuases ERROR 500 or not? Thanks, konny for your continued efforts on flynet, just a tiny niggle i had tonight.
Hi all,
I too have been having this problem more frequently over the last few day's. I was finally able to Book a Flight today after a few hours of my "Book flight List" not coming up.
Konny, I know this a growing pains issue and please don't think I'm writing to complain. I'm writing in the interest of informing you and others about my experience. The place is GREAT on the whole and lucky for me, I have not had the Client take a dive during flight { perhaps I should not have written that }
Anyhow, it's been very "ERROR505" happy the last couple days..
happy flying everyone.

Flynet growth is excellent, but it does put a strain on the server and other resources.
FlyNET is provided free of charge, out of the generosity of our Deutschland Devlopment team. If you wish to support the project, (ie help pay for bandwidth, server upgrades and other improvements) there is a paypal link set up on the contacts page.

Whats the error.
Hi,
In business you dont throw money at things and hope they go away.
Why are you getting error 505 does flynet website and flynet client both use the same database ? - is that why you get issues as both are connecting to the same database and causing timeouts \ connection issues ?
People within flynet dont just sit at home playing flight sims 24/7. Some work in IT who may be able to assist.

Middy:
If you would like to assist FLYnet, than by all means, contact either DaKurt or Konny, they have final say on the project but they might want the extra help. As to others who are annoyed that the server is going down, but do not have the ability to fix it, allowing them to contribute a bit to keep the service they love in flight is perfectly reasonable.
I'm of the opinion, that for a free service Beta, our programmers get a lot more flack than they deserve to...
Cheers,

Sir, If you would like to have a talk about what/when/how/where one might throw money at a business then we can have that talk. I must be honest with you here. I don't like your tone at all. No one put a gun to your head.. Feel free though, to dump a bunch of your own time and money into a huge project, for free, so you too can the the recipient of unnecessary Monday morning quarterbacking from "IT" guys who just KNOW they can do it better.
I'll never understand how some people don't seem to understand what's going on here. This a long, step by step Beta testing. All in all, when considering it's growth of late, and the fact that the designers are GIVING their time and not charging, it's gone quite well. Have there been mistakes? Yes. Is constructive criticism highly valued? Yes, I'm sure it is. But I really wish people would not complain as if they are returning a washing machine to a department store or something... I've been as frustrated as anyone else and I hope these problems will be sorted out over time {and I'm sure they will be} but you wont here me make snotty comments about these people who are giving us time and Money for free.
On the subject of bandwidth. If in fact you do not have enough. It will cost you money. You don't have to throw Monet at it, I mean, you could try cheese, snow ball's or, I don't know, Dog poop? But if I needed more bandwidth, I would throw money. If I had it...

well, Konny is the one in charge for all website stuff including server probs. But as far as I'm informed this problem is because our transfer limits are at their limit. (we currently have a traffic of 20GB / month ... well although we were only allowed to use 10GB/month, or something like that...)

Thanks Ivan, you have opened my eyes!
Blimmy,
IvanT3. I think you have gone off track here.
My previous post was;
1. A reply to "donate"
2. A question of "why we have this error"
If you understand a problem you can make a solution. But just sitting behind your screen, flying your plane is your solution to fixing this bug then good on ya, perhaps your $1 may assist them.
Perhaps my solution is to provide 12years experience at this project. I charge in excess of £1000 a day. Offering it for free, to be honest with your attitude I think I should just not bother.
I have a solution with regards to bandwidth. I have a 30gb site flynet could use. mysql etc. again, with your attitude. why should i bother.
Thanks Ivan, now I know who flynet serve I am going to retract my offer to assist, and just play the game along with everyone else.
Regards
Dave
