Server Upgrades/Down time.
Hi Flyers!
The site will be down on for a few hours on 30 Wednesday 2023 at 5:00AM UTC or 29 Tuesday 9:00PM PST (California time) while I perform some server upgrades.
We have been using the same server since 2016 and its time for a new home. Same service provider but faster CPU and more memory, plus much more modern software.
Rescheduled Sunday 3 September at 2pm UTC or 7am PDT California time.

I have been hit by a stomach bug which has knocked me flat. The upgrade will be delayed

Re: Server Upgrades/Down time.
I am rescheduling the system downtime to Saturday 2 September 2023 at 22:00 UCT or 3:00PM Saturday September 2nd California time (PTD).
This is earlier in the day than before but this way I can be awake to see if there are any issues when the new server goes live.

Re: Server Upgrades/Down time.
Hi Joe,
Sorry to hear that you were under the weather. Glad you're feeling better now!
Not trying to sound dense, but I'm confused as to the time the servers will be down. You said it would start at 0000hrs on Sept 3rd (3PM PDT, Saturday Sept 2nd).
However, 3PM PDT equates to 2200 UTC.
Any chance for clarification?
Thanks,
Scott

Re: Server Upgrades/Down time.
Your right and you have given me a choice, 3pm California/10pm UTC or 5pm California/12pm UTC and while going later will disrupt fewer ppl, I think I will go for the earlier time and allow me to be awake longer as the migration happens.flugkapitan wrote: ↑Fri Sep 01, 2023 11:34 pm Not trying to sound dense, but I'm confused as to the time the servers will be down. Re: Server Upgrades/Down time.
Sorry about this, too many things happening today, tasks from SWMBO and events to attend for me to do the upgrade today, instead I will do it on Sunday 3 September at 2pm UTC or 7am PDT California time.
Unfortunate that is a busier time on platform but its a block of time I am pretty sure I can keep from being asked to do something else.

Re: Server Upgrades/Down time.
Data transfer complete.
DNS address reset to new server.
Apache enabled on new server.
It may take 10 minutes for the new addresses to make it to your system. But there is a remote chance that it could be an hour as that was the TTL 30 minutes before I started. But you can try to use it now. If you keep getting the maintenance mode screen its because the new IP address has not come down to your system yet.
www and beta seam to be working, still trying to verify remote.fsairlines.net
Still some cronjobs that need to be enabled and disabled on the old machine.

Re: Server Upgrades/Down time.
After fixing a few bugs everything seams to be working, so I have to declare upgrade complete.

Re: Server Upgrades/Down time.
Right now everything is working except for our email, we can send out message but we not receiving messages from support@ or the other fsairlines.net addresses. I will advise when I get them working.
