I just learned that a long term member of FSA, Alan Peel, has passed away from Cancer.
Alan had been a member of FSA for a very long time, first flight recorded 9 August 2010 and he had recorded 10,458 flights on the platform. Alan could be a PIA at times but was a good friend and will be missed.
Happy Flying Alan.

Re: Alan Peel
Yes , this is a message i put up on our discord
"its with a heavy heart that i tell you that one of our CEOs has passed away today (05-Feb-22) from his battle with throat cancer.
sincere condolences to all of Alan's Family and Friends"
Yes i agree with the "PIA" comment but i can also tell you that Alan was always passionate about FSairlines and VA flying in general.
he will be sadly missed be us all at ABVG.
RIP Alan peel
on a side note , we would have been very saddened by the loss of the Antonov 225 (the real one that is)

Re: Alan Peel
Despite (sometimes very public) differences in the past with Alan as a few of you here are well aware of, I had a lot of respect for him and he was an inspiration of mine on this platform from when we flew side by side from 2012-2015 and I have him to thank for my many years of flying on this platform.
Having met Alan at the 2014 Flight Sim show he was a character and would always be the laugh of the party. I will always remember when we went pub hunting in Wolverhampton with Glenn, Ernie and Jacko so that Glenn could get me to try Strongbow Dark Fruit. Which is still my cider of choice if it is available on the pump at any pub I visit.
Alan and I formed ‘Star Alliance Virtual’ back in 2012 with a chap called Anton and grew it to a big airline in a matter of months. After Anton departed, we reformed British Virgin UK together and ran that until 2014 when I went on the hunt for members and found Glenn, Ernie and Ollie at GEO Airlines. After a few months, a vote was initiated to form a new community. ‘A British Virtual Group’ some of you may have heard of this. Sadly, mainly due to immaturity and being a stubborn git with using kACARS, I left the community taking everything that everyone worked hard to earn (This is something I still regret to this day) with me and effectively left FSAirlines from 2015-2018 to study for my career and various other things.
Then came January 2020 when I contacted Alan to re-join BVG with a few friends of mine. Little did we know that this would be the catalyst to form the massive airline that I run today Virgin XL. I really enjoyed flying with the people at BVG again after 6 years. However, we outgrew a single fleet and we needed to evolve. Despite some characters over the years going between our two airlines causing trouble we have seen BVG as a goal to reach and we are working hard towards it.
I have recently been in contact again with David, Paul, Eric and Ernie at BVG and we have decided to keep in touch from here on.
R.I.P Alan permanently airborne now.
This was taken in 2014 at the Flight Sim Show here in the UK at Cosford Airport. With a very baby faced and skinny me before Alan undertook his surgery.

Re: Alan Peel
Nice words Adam,
you forgot about the Original British Virgin UK which was from 2010 to 2014 also.this is where Alan started setting up all the flight plans (before we had charter flights now) He spent months doing them. He was certainly one of the longest serving pilots on Fsairlines I think.
I think Alan would like if we honer him by doing an event in the near future, I'm thinking of something around the planes he loved flying,
antonov 225,
Lancaster bomber
and spitfire.
Stay tuned for that, and I will post it up here

Re: Alan Peel
My mistake for not mentioning original BVU, I wasn't around for much of that. But the flight plans that alan setup we still use to this day from his spreadsheet that compiled them all. Very clever stuff!ep-irl wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 1:14 pm Nice words Adam,

We are looking forward to the memorial flight for Alan and a fully loaded 225 would be perfect for such an occasion! haha. Maybe two of them
