A320Neo vs A321Neo Packages / Cargo Problem

Hi Simers,

Because of the known technical issues with MSFS20 I went back to FSX and bought me a A320 / A321 package. In our VA we have some A320Neo cause of the MSFS20 Sim. Than I saw the A321Neo has round about 3k more Cargo Space and also the benefit to carry more passengers.

But as I bought it in FSA I was a lil confused and sad, too. While I can pick up with the A320Neo 5038kg of packages I can pick up just 4791kg with the bigger A321Neo. I do not understand how this belongs or maybe what I am seeing wrong.

Maybe you could help me to understand this.

The difference between the two is that the A321 is configured to hold more passengers. The system will reserve enough weight for a full load of passenger, their baggage and the necessary cabin crew, because the A321 is configured to carry 31 more passengers that used up the extra cargo space.

But I think there is already a mistake in the Database.

A320neo: 11022kg Cargospace | 195 Passenger = 56,52kg Cargospace per Passenger
A321neo: 14717kg Cargospace | 236 Passenger = 62,36kg Cargospace per Passenger

That means I have by default passenger configuration by the A321neo more cargospace per Passenger but in total less space for Packages.
Makes in this comparision no sense to me. Or where is my mistake in thinking?

There are two formulas we use for figuring cargo capacity and then we choose the lowest

The cargo hold itself:

Cargo Capacity - Pax * 25

The total weight

MZFW - DOW - Pax * 102 - Crew * 85

In this case it was the second formula that was the limiting factor

For the A320

MZFW (62800 kg) - DOW (41000 kg) - Pax wt (160 * 102kg = 16320 kg) - crew wt (4 * 85 kg) = 5140 kg

For the A321

MZFW(75600 kg) - DOW(50800 kg) - Pax wt (192 * 102kg = 19584 kg) = crew wt (5 * 85 kg) = 4791 kg)
