There's a nice little ice gauge and icing effects addition available (has been for some time) by Charles (Dutch) Owen and is downloadable free from the AVSIM file library called icev10.zip.
Basically you get a new gauge and icing simulator that you add to the aircrafts gauges file, but it is all explained well in the write up.

Re: Ice Gauge and icing
IF you get this going please let me know the read me it's "MESSED UP" dosen't really tell you about how to add it to your panel config very confusing thanks
Re: Ice Gauge and icing
I followed the process detailed in the text files within the zip. Apart from having to chainge the .air file which is quite tricky, I just added the new gauge in the model gauge portion an the next available gauge, and manoevered the x,y co-ords to get it where I wanted it within the panel, and the size of the gauge. The default co-ords put it in the upper left corner of the display.
I think that the guage only works within FS9 as well, as I'm not sure if FSX and FS9 panels are built in the same manner, it may be that this is the root cause of your issues.
Hope that helps.
