Re: Cargo System/Packages
I had a bit of a screw up today, I was restoring an old backup into the backup database, to recover someones old VA, and accidentally pushed it into the main database and noticed only an hour ago. I just finished restoring the backup from 5 hours ago to get things back in shape, but activity since 20:00 UTC will be lost.
Very sorry, I have to go hang my head in shame.

NO sorries Sir! It's called being human.

Forgiven by me if that means anything.....

Yes, indeed, we are all human.
No worries, Joe - you are a great guy!
Not sure if it is possible or not, but perhaps in the future, having a second set of eyes looking over any changes made to the database before the changes are submitted?
Regards,
Scott

Re: Cargo System/Packages
Scott and Sam, thanks for understanding. I wish I had a second set of eyes to before making those sort of changes, but this is one of those operations I just do manually and it takes only a few seconds to issue the command. I should probably put it in a screen so I am not doing it manually and that should help prevent this from happening in the future.flugkapitan wrote: ↑Sun Feb 02, 2020 2:34 am Yes, indeed, we are all human.

Re: Cargo System/Packages
How is it a new pilot with no cargo handling permissions is able to load an aircraft?

Re: Cargo System/Packages
Where has all the package cargo gone? Did Joe work on it again and forget to turn it back on?
Tonight out of Las Vegas, nothing for the West Coast USA, nothing for Denver, Dallas, Chicago, New York, Miami all gone. ....

Re: Cargo System/Packages
I checked the jobs and they seem to be working, about 500+ packages a day are being generated for KLAS. Moved an aircraft of mine to KLAS and booked a flight to KSFO and there were lots of packages available for that route. Sam I noticed your pilot is not currently at KLAS, is there another pilot in your VA who is having this problem?

Re: Cargo System/Packages
After making poor Joe jump through hoops and look for non existent bugs, we finally discovered the problem is with how I have been using the search engine. "All" is not the way to go any more as the system now generates far more packages than can be shown in 1000 lines.

As promised, here is the link to the new video, "The Package System IV - Using the Search Engine". Hopefully Joe will post it with the others we've done to help new pilots and VA owners.

Re: Cargo System/Packages
I guess I should review the earlier package videos' and see if they are truly needed at this point. Or you can decide..... It's been months since I've viewed the original package video's, I'll review them tomorrow and go from there. As the package system has evolved, I guess we should keep the instructional video's up to date as well.
