FlyNET Hang Online

Post by aretallack »

Frustration... 2 "hangs" shortly after take-off on a flight from FAJS to FADN in South Africa. Then tried the sames flight using SB3 instead of FSInn - no problem. Flew another leg using neither SB3 or FSInn - no problem.

I know that PMDG experiences problems interacting with FSInn... perhaps the FlyNet client does as well. I have had successful FlyNet flights using FSInn, so perhaps this is a red herring. Pringle/Gordon - what are you using?

Cheers

Split this off into a separate topic as it's a different issue than the original.

The client is most likely hanging due to congestion on the FlyNET Web Server. It is not due to any other programs. I use FSInn on all of my flights with FlyNET and have had no problems to date with hangups except for when the web server was congested where the Client would just hang and I'd find out after I finished my flight that it wasn't working anymore.

Yep just happened. I was unable to log in to any part of FlyNET. Can be frustrating if you do not catch it especially on a long flight. But hey what do you want for free?

I and others might be willing to donate some $$$$$$$ for more server bandwidth.

Don't worry, the bandwidth and storage issue will be resolved shortly.

i found that if the server crashes or your internet goes down. simply continue flying and the client will work again once the servers back up. Just a suggestion

Yes it happened to me once. The client was hung up and I just waited it out and it came back up.

i've tried to fly to russia today and on both attempts the flynet client crashes and comes up with the windows message about error sending and so on. not the same problem as usual. can someone look into this as twice in one day is kind of irritating!!! especially on long haul where i have wasted upto 6 hours!!!

And i know the server gets congested but not when there are only 6 people flying and it happens twice in a day.

I must dispute the "server is busy" theory. I have also tried waiting for the client to "come back to life", to no avail.

I have however succesfully completed two flights by following CAPFlyer's advice at the bottom of the thread:

G'luck FSNovice, and let me know if that helps?
