This plane on one flight went from 100% to 52%, what would cause this?
Hull State % 4.31
Engine No 1 State % 99.99
Engine No 2 State % 99.99
What would cause this?

Probably too high a vertical speed on touchdown - not sure what the client classes as a bad V/S, but I would say you would not want to go more than say -500/fpm. (But as I say I do not know what the limit is - Konny ?)
Further - I see someone has booked it out - with an a/c state of 52% that is just asking for trouble on the next flight

Yep I got to call him on the phone and tell him to un-book it ASAP! Guess I need to repair that bird.UKD192 wrote:Probably too high a vertical speed on touchdown - not sure what the client classes as a bad V/S, but I would say you would not want to go more than say -500/fpm. This is another case in point to why I want the Touchdown FPM Velocity recorded in the flight report.

The new maintenance program uses the landing velocity as the basis of how much damage is done to the airframe. The point being that with a heavy landing (like your 1,300 FPM) it's going to do a lot of damage to the hull but not necessarily the engines, so you could theoretically have the airplane's hull value could be dropped to nearly zero.
Some light reading regarding an increased rate of descent on landing (B737) http://www.aaiu.ie/upload/general/3514-0.PDF
